Folkestone triennial arts venue
An invited competition for the design of an arts centre in Folkestone.
The scheme involved the conversion of an existing delipidated two
storey building on the Old High Street, creating new space for artists
studios, a visitors centre, cafe and public gallery. Project work
undertaken whilst at Jonathan Tuckey Design
Model of proposed scheme; North elevation. The placement of artists studios on the ground floor
ensures passers by
easily view the activity within the building, and is intended to draw people inside to
the public spaces on first floor level.
